Sandy Spakoski
Sandy Spakoski is the Interim Assistant Director of IT Service Strategy and Operations at University Information Technology Services (UITS). In this role, she directs the university’s enterprise IT strategy, service rationalization, software optimization initiatives, and core operational functions that keep technology services efficient and aligned with institutional goals. Susan focuses on streamlining the university’s technology landscape, enhancing service quality, and supporting sustainable, strategic growth across the IT ecosystem. Her leadership is driven by a passion for delighting customers, creating experiences that exceed expectations, and building trust within the university community.
Before her current role, Sandy was a Program Manager in Infrastructure Technologies for Accelerating Secure IT Services (ASITS), guiding a university-wide effort to speed up the adoption of centrally-managed secure technology services. She also co-led IT Centralization, managing the complex organizational and operational work needed to unify distributed IT units into a coordinated, strategic model that delivers greater value to the institution.
Throughout her career, Sandy has led major transformational initiatives. While at American Public University and University of Maryand University Campus she was the Program Manager for implementation teams that transformed the IT organizations to agile, innovative and insight driven organization. Sandy also lead high priority programs at public and government contract companies and is known for delivering quality products/programs on-time.
Known for her data-driven decision-making and customer-centric approach, Sandy offers extensive expertise in IT operations, organizational change, and enterprise strategy. Her work continues to shape a more secure, streamlined, and service-focused technology environment for the university community.
