Onboarding to TLC

Onboarding to TLC

How Departments Join the TLC Service

College or Division leadership will contract with TLC for the service. TLC will schedule department by department to onboard.

If you have received a Welcome email for your department, onboarding will occur over a 3-4 week period. This will end in a “go live” date for your department to be enrolled. TLC Extended customers will then officially be supported by TLC.

Installing Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub

The critical step to onboard into Technology Lifecycle Care is installing the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub application on your workstation.

  • TLC Extended customers, if your support team recommends during onboarding that you are due for a refresh machine, new computers your department purchases through TLC come with the Hub pre-installed.

Install the Hub before your department’s go-live date for you and your machine to be included in your department’s TLC service. Watch for email from TLC with dates and appointment links.

To Install the Hub:

  • For WINDOWS machines, the Hub will be installed on your desktop remotely automatically when you are on the campus network or on the campus VPN. The installation will happen the first time you connect to the network after TLC sets your department up for installation during the onboarding period.
  • For MACS, TLC Enterprise customers should request departmental IT assistance. For TLC Extended customers, please make an appointment with TLC Support to have the Hub installed (which can be done remotely), or drop into the Tech Studio for in-person assistance anytime during the onboarding period.

Refresh Process for TLC Extended

TLC Support will evaluate your workstation during onboarding to see whether it is due for a refresh. If yes, they will reach out to your department to make a plan to replace your device.

If your department purchases a new workstation for you, you can come in to the Tech Studio to see the options in person and walk out with a new machine right away, or you can make your decision remotely. TLC Support can make an appointment to deliver new technology to main campus offices, or can ship new devices directly to you if your office is outside the main campus or you are working remotely.
