Timothy Schwab
Tim Schwab has been with the University of Arizona since March 2018 and currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, he leads the university’s information security program, focused on protecting institutional assets, applications, systems, and technologies while enabling and advancing the university’s broader mission and business outcomes.
Previously, Tim served as Executive Director of Administrative Technologies, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications, including Human Capital Management (HCM), Financials, Research systems, Contract Management, Document Storage, EDGE Learning, and more.
With a career in information technology spanning back to 1987, Tim brings decades of experience from the private sector, including work with a global nonprofit organization. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University and has completed postgraduate coursework at The Ohio State University.
Tim is recognized for his expertise in designing and delivering cost-effective, high-performance IT solutions and building strong teams to solve complex business challenges. His experience spans the full project lifecycle, from feasibility analysis and conceptual design through implementation, user training, and ongoing enhancements. He is known for his strong communication skills and his ability to build and lead creative, energized, and highly focused teams.
Beyond his professional work, Tim is actively engaged in the community. He currently serves on his homeowners association board and has previously served on the United Way Board in a funding role and on the Humane Society Board. In his personal time, Tim enjoys being outdoors and is an avid hiker, cyclist, and swimmer.
