UA Honors Campus Web Excellence

Web efforts on campus were honored at the 2019 UA Awards for Excellence—twice.

UITS Senior Website Designer/Developer Dana Hertzberg was nominated for the Individual Award for Excellence by Eller College for her work on their new website. Creating a website for such a large and complex institution is a huge undertaking, and Eller appreciated Dana’s above-and-beyond performance, customer service, and strategic approach to their project.

Dana was specifically lauded for being detail-oriented, diligent, and patient; providing Eller staff the know-how they would need going forward; providing an exceptional level of technical and organizational flexibility; and always being friendly and responsive.

The UA Digital team was also nominated, for the Team Award for Excellence. These UA website professionals from different colleges and departments have been collaborating for the last several years to standardize, streamline, and simplify the process for creating easy to use, branded, secure, and mobile responsive UA websites.

CIO Barry Brummund said of the group, “To make a transformation like this possible would typically require an unlimited budget and a mandate from UA leadership. In the absence of funding and mandates, this transformation was completed through the efforts of our own campus community.”
