October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CAM) and poses the perfect opportunity to educate the university community about cyber threats, the ways AI is making phishing more believable, and tips on how to protect your data. This month, the Information Security Office (ISO) is rolling out a series of tips and resources with weekly themes covering critical aspects of cybersecurity. Stay informed and protect your digital environment with engaging and practical advice:

  • Week 1: Be a Smart Digital Citizen
    Learn best practices for maintaining security in your online interactions and safeguarding your personal and professional data.
  • Week 2: Security in the AI World
    Explore the growing intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and how AI is making is more difficult to detect cyberthreats. 
  • Week 3: Mobile Device Security
    Discover strategies to secure mobile devices, mitigate vulnerabilities, and manage risks in an increasingly mobile workforce.
  • Week 4: Incident Recognition and Reporting
    Understand how to identify and respond to potential security incidents, and the importance of prompt and accurate reporting.

There are four words we are asking community members to remember: Stop. Look. Think – and then Act. Remembering these four simple words when encountering suspicious communications could make all the difference in the safety of your information.
