Google Storage Deadline Extended to May 23
15GB storage limit is two weeks away!
Throughout the past year, UITS has communicated that the University of Arizona will implement a 15GB storage limit on University Google accounts, including Google Drive, Google Photos and Gmail.
Multiple extensions have been granted to allow University Google Account users who exceed 15GB additional time to reduce the size of their account and avoid possible disruption to teaching and learning activities.
However, on Tuesday, May 23, the 15GB storage limit will be implemented on all University Google accounts.
What does this mean?
If your University Google account exceeds 15GB on May 23, 2023 you will be unable to perform certain account functions including uploading or creating new files and backing up photos or videos.
To meet the University's new 15GB Google storage limit by May 23:
- Log in to your University Google account.
- Download or copy files you wish to retain to your computer or another storage location.
- Once files have been downloaded/copied, delete them from your University Google account and empty the Trash folder. Files that remain in your Trash will contribute to your overall storage limit.
