Image High-Performance Computing RFP Underway Wednesday The university is investing $5 million in a High-Performance Computing (HPC) hardware refresh, with implementation scheduled for spring 2026. The project, supported by ongoing research funding, includes $2 million for CPU nodes, $2 million for GPU nodes, and $1 million for network upgrades. A Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued in November 2024, with contract approval expected by June 2025. The HPC platform supports 73 of the top 100 researchers, contributing to $408 million in research expenditures and 2,620 active awards in FY24. The University Information Technology Services (UITS) team is expanding to meet growing demands, adding new consultants and an IT security analyst. Read more
