Student Resources

IT for Students

This is an overview of the digital resources available to you. Our goal is to ensure we provide technology services, resources and support that you may need as a student at the University.

Find out what's new in student tech for fall 2024

Some articles in the University Knowledge Base may require you to log in to see the information.

New to the U

The first step is to connecting to the U is creating a UA NetID and associated password.

Add a phone or other device in NetID+ (two-step authentication) for logging into UA accounts and systems.

Never share your NetID password. Set up a Guest Center account so parents, spouse, or others can log in with their own password.

A CatMail email account is automatically created for you when you create your NetID and password: [yournetid]@arizona.edu. Email is the University's official means of communication with you, so check it often on the web or in a computer or phone app.

WiFi Connection

UAWiFi is the fast, secure campus wireless network. Use your UA NetID and password to log in. (Please do not set up a personal wireless router on campus.)

Wired Network

To connect a computer, laptop, or other device to the campus wired network, you will need to configure your machine or sign-in with the portal.

See Student Data Services for Dorms for useful information on connecting your devices in the dorms like you can't use wireless printers.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

If you are working from an off campus network and want to access secured systems, you will need to log in to the university VPN (virtual private network).

Find in one place information about:

  • Classes—schedule, assignments, grade tracking
  • Meal Plan and CatCash balances
  • Important update messages
  • And more!
