NOTE: On July 20, 2018, all Panopto Remote Recorder and Panopto Recorder client software on all client computers will need to be running at least version 5.6.x or above. To upgrade with the most current version, log in to Panopto through D2L, and click Download Panopto in the upper right corner of the Panopto window.
Panopto is a presentation capture platform that can be used to manage videos in a course, record lectures or lab demonstrations, live-stream events, prepare videos and materials ahead of class, and caption and share videos. Students can view recordings over the Internet to review classroom content, assess their work and that of their peers, and create recordings for classes.
Panopto can be used to capture a variety of media presentations, from something as simple as an audio recording to a project involving two computers, cameras, and a classroom projector. Many rooms on campus are equipped to record audio and/or video.
Panopto is available in D2L under UA Tools. Log in at http://d2l.arizona.edu. (There is a 72-hour waiting period to establish a new course in D2L. See the D2L Help Pages for information on requesting a new course in D2L.) Visit the OIA's Panopto pages for more information.

For using Panopto outside of a course management system, contact your departmental ITsupport staff or email firstname.lastname@example.org to have a Panopto folder and NetID login established for you.
