Does your computing function need accurate time information? UITS offers NTP service (Network Time Protocol)—high-accuracy stratum-1 time servers operated by GPS clocks. These servers, in turn, provide time information for two physically separated pools of stratum-2 servers for use by the campus community as a robust, fault-tolerant time source.
University departments or colleges that would like to utilize these server pools may do so by using:
0.pool.ntp.arizona.edu
1.pool.ntp.arizona.edu
From a linux NTP configuration, the necessary configuration lines are:
server 0.pool.ntp.arizona.edu iburst
