Effective July 1, 2019 the new Microsoft Campus Agreement (MCA) has significant changes in how licensing is distributed for University of Arizona faculty and staff. There is no change to the Student software (Microsoft Office 365 available for online use or software/app downloads). Here are the Microsoft products included in the new agreement for faculty and staff:

  • Office 365
    • Licenses for Office Professional Plus (versions 2016/2019) and Office for Mac (versions 2016/2019) are no longer available at the UA BookStores with the new MCA this year. The only exception is availability of these products in UA Student Labs. The same products you enjoy such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., are already included in the Office 365 bundle. See Microsoft Office 365 for more information.
    • Windows and Mac users just need to log into office.com where you will see the options to install the applications onto your desktop.
    • Note: Files created in Office 2013, Office 2010 and Office 2007 are compatible with Office 2019 and Windows 10. Older versions beyond that are not compatible but might work if you use the compatibility mode.
    • Faculty and staff have email and calendar service provided through Office 365. See UAConnect365 Faculty and Staff Email and Calendar.
  • Project Professional Online and Visio Online
    • Keys for older versions will be deactivated on January 6, 2020. See link for more information and how to get new online versions.
  • Power BI Pro
    • May be purchased by current faculty and staff
  • Power Apps
    • May be purchased by current faculty and staff
  • MS Access and MS Publisher
    • Available for Free
  • Imagine Academy
    • Free training in Microsoft products for students, faculty, and staff
  • Office 365 Home Use version is no longer available under the new MCA for faculty and staff. You can download Office 365 software on as many systems/devices as you want but you can only be logged into a local installation of Office 365 on five (5) devices concurrently.
  • Windows 10
    • For faculty/staff available on UA computer installs only - not home use.
