Long distance calls made on University of Arizona campuses can be billed either directly to the caller’s campus telephone or to another account using an Individual Account Code (an IAC is also known as an Authorization Code).
Long distance calls made off-campus can be billed to Calling Cards.
Long distance calls made from campus telephones to Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma, or Flagstaff are free of charge when using Toll Bypass. Please see Intrastate Toll Bypass for details.
Using Long Distance
To avoid incurring long distance charges, please use Intrastate Toll Bypass when calling from a Tucson, Phoenix or Yuma campus phone to any phone number in Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma, or Flagstaff. To bypass the toll, do not dial 1, just dial the area code and phone number.
--
To make a long distance call to a destination within the US:
-
Dial 1 + Area Code + Phone number.
To make long distance call to a destination outside the US:
- Dial 011 + Country Code + City Code + Phone number.
- If you do not know the Country or City Codes, consult the local telephone directory (such as the Tucson Dex White Pages) or call an International Operator by dialing 00.
