The Enterprise Directory Service (EDS) is a repository of identity data, including biographic, demographic, and role and membership related attributes, for students, faculty, staff, Designated Campus Colleagues (DCCs) and others.
EDS can support access control decisions, authorization, and user personalization via simple yet secure programming interfaces usable in any application environment. Using the EDS provides high-availability access to a consistent source of real-time data. EDS also supports the UA Shibboleth Identity Provider, tying authentication and authorization together.
