UAConnect365 Setup - Generate an App Password
If you are using Outlook 2016, or Outlook 2013 that has been updated by IT staff, or the Outlook or Nine mobile app for your UAConnect365 account, they all work with NetID+. You can use your NetID password in your account settings, and do not need to use the app password process described below.
If you are using any other email software or mobile app for UAConnect365, you will need to set up an app password using the instructions below to use in your account settings.
Note: This is not the Secondary (CatMail) Password emailed to you when your NetID password is created/changed.
Name your password for where you will be using it (e.g., "Galaxy 7 Mail", "Home MacBook Apple Mail", "Work Thunderbird"), and click Create.
Copy the generated password and paste it into the account settings for your email application or mobile app.
- This password will be lost when you close the window, so copy and use it right away.
- You can always revoke the password and create a new one if needed.
This app password will take the place of your NetID password and NetID+ when the application or app goes to receive or send email from your UAConnect365 account.
Note: App passwords are intended to be used with a single client application, not re-used across multiple applications/devices. You may generate as many app passwords as necessary. You do not need to store or remember your app passwords—they do not expire, and may be revoked at any time via the app-pw.catnet.arizona.edu site.
