Controlled Unclassified Information research computing environments meet the information security requirements mandated in NIST Special Publication 800-171. These environments are available to UA researchers when their government contract or award indicates that they are working with CUI or contract clauses indicate that NIST SP 800-171 controls are required.
Services available include:
- Amazon Web Services GovCloud, a US-located, US-staffed, compliant environment
- Secured laptops and encrypted USB for locally storing, processing, and transmitting CUI data
- Portal for secured communication with project sponsors
Contact the CUI team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
UA research faculty who are working with CUI will own projects in the CUI environment. The PI (principal investigator) can add members of their team on the Technology Control Plan who can access the project in the CUI environment.
The third Thursday of each month from 6:00pm-12:00am, there will be scheduled down time for approximately 6 hours. During this maintenance window, the CUI platforms will be inaccessible and all running processes will be stopped. All administrative operations around the platform will resume immediately after the maintenance window. This time will be used to patch, update, and improve overall service.
if you have questions or issues, please contact the CUI administration team at email@example.com.
